Lefton China Tea Cup Saucer and Dessert Plate RARE– NO SHIPPING!
This exquisite pattern on this HAND PAINTED Lefton China set has not been seen at all in any of my research. So I do not know the name of it. It is numbered 1164. The pattern listed in Replacements.com is not this pattern!
This is much prettier. On top of bold light pink striping are hand painted gold filigree (leaf patterns). In between these pink stripes are little bouquets of roses pink and white roses and red tipped green leaves. All around this pattern has been painted a bold pearlescent background that I hope you can see in the pictures it is absolutely decadent and lovely. This pattern is the same on the saucer as well as the dessert plate.
Now the teacup is very delicate and just as beautiful. It matches the plates (and even has the same pearlescent glaze), with the exception of the pink striping. Instead the cup is an accordion scallop design and sitting on a scalloped pedestal. I didn’t even see this shape of teacup while searching Lefton China.
All edges are hand painted in gold, as well as the handle, which is entirely gold. The marks on the bottom are a hand painted crown, and reads “Lefton China Hand Painted Reg. US Patent Off” and the number 1164.
This very old set is in perfect condition as far as the porcelain china goes, and it is very thin and shows light through it. But the hand painting has worn off in some slightly noticeable areas, and the gold rims are faint in some areas. The gold filigree on the dessert plate is worn off in some areas as well. The saucer is not as obvious. Around the lip of the cup the gold is starting to brown, but still very solid and prominent. Again there is no chips or cracks or crazing!
The Dessert plate measures 7.25”. The saucer is 5.25”. The teacup is 6 x 2.50”
This set has been used allot over the decades past…but still strikingly decadently gorgeous. It took my breath away when I first saw it!
