Vintage Married Metal or Dark Silver Large Tray
Married Metal, Dark Silver: Made of silver, nickel and iron. Soft gun metal gray.
This is the description I have found for this metal. The tray measures 20 x 14” and has a slanted rim that is 2” deep and the handles are 2.5” deep.
The scene that is stamped into the soft metal is of a Seniorita in the foreground and an hombre in the background. 2 Large Aloe Vera Cactus are on both sides of them.
The metal is old, tarnished & pitted and some small spots of rust are visible.
The seam is soldered with a shinier metal all around the border and adds to the design. Very solid and not bent or dented. The metal is covering a balsa type wood. It is not hollow. The bottom reveals the wood. The wood is in fine condition.
“Mexico” is stamped in the inside corner.
If you are looking for a perfect like new tray of Mexico, this is not it. But if you are looking for a vintage slice of life of souvenir and old metal work, then this is a terrific addition to your collection.
