Kentley Tray: Souvenir of St Petersburg Pier: Post 1940's
Kentley Trays are made of carefully selected, durable wood fibres while back and front are covered with a fine lithographed paper skillfully fused to the surface. They are easily cleaned by wiping with a damp cloth.
Many different styles and images were used on these trays. Some had no imges at all. It is the process of using the fibre board that stands them apart.
This particular tray portrays a black and white photograph of a happy scene on a vacation day at “St Petersburg Million Dollar Recreation Area”
The main color bordering the image is an egg shell white. It is very sturdy and in good shape whit e exception of a small area in the lower left corner (seen in the pics) where the laminate has somehow chipped of and exposing the brown underneath..
The pier that was built in 1926 and the people on the beach are quite happy to be there and the spot does not bother them at all! (humor!)
The bottom has the Kentley mark and reads below it “Patents Pending Kent Productions, In Grand Rapids, Mich.” There is also a little background paragraph about the pier in Tampa Bay, FL.

Also you will see a little sticker that someone placed on the back noting the streets that the pier is near, I assume.
