This is a great device. Whereby you place your potato length wise in the opened compartment that shows the thatched grid and then you slide the red handle done to the base and voila! You have a perfectly squared long French fry or chip as in “fish and chips” since it is “Made in England “ PAT # 490250 (REG 19275).
This vintage workable potato chipper has seen some use…it does have some rusted areas and the red handle , while still has lots of deep red shiny paint, is showing some wear.
The mark is on the inside of the piece just under the mounting hole for storage or maybe operation on the wall…It moves very nicely.
